Entering its 25th year since establishment, Asia University takes "World-Class University" as its vision and upholds the school motto of "Health, Caring, Innovation, and Excellence." The university comprehensively demonstrates extraordinary strength in academic performance, University Social Responsibility (USR) practices, and environmental sustainability indicators, cultivating outstanding green-collar talents with global competitiveness.

  • 成立臺中健康暨管理學院籌備處 (蔡長海、林增連先生創辦) Established the Preparatory Office of Taichung Healthcare and Management College (Founded by Mr. Chang-Hai Tsai and Mr. Tseng-Lien Lin).
 
  • 當年2月正式向教育部提出設校申請 (89)台中管理字第2001號 Officially submitted the school establishment application to the Ministry of Education in February of that year (Document No. (89)-Taichung-Management-2001).
  • 當年9月取得教育部同意許可籌設函台 (89)高( )字第89122848號 Received the Ministry of Education's official approval letter for preparation in September of that year (Document No. (89)-Higher-Education-89122848).
 
  • 通過教育部立案審查正式招生。 Passed the Ministry of Education's official registration review and commenced formal student enrollment.
  • 美國西北大學電機工程與電腦科學博士蔡進發教授由美返台就任第一任校長。 Professor Jeffrey J. P. Tsai, PhD in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from Northwestern University (USA), returned to Taiwan to assume office as the inaugural President.
  • 設17大學部學系、10碩士班、5碩士專班、5二技部 (分為健康、管理及資訊等三學群)。 Established 17 undergraduate departments, 10 master's programs, 5 executive master's programs, and 5 two-year technical programs (structured into Health, Management, and Information Science fields).
 
  • 第一屆畢業生受證受獎儀式。 The graduation and award presentation ceremony for the inaugural graduating class.
  • 獲國科會提升私立大學研究能量計畫，總補助金額逾2,000萬元，為創校初期第一個大型跨領域研究計畫。 Secured the National Science Council's project to enhance research capacity in private universities, with a total subsidy exceeding NT$20 million, marking the first major interdisciplinary research project since founding.
 
  • 蔡文祥教授接任第二任校長. Professor Wen-Hsiang Tsai assumed office as the second President.
  • 大學校務評鑑獲私校(三)組第一名。 Ranked 1st in the Private School (Group 3) category in the National University Institutional Evaluation.
 
  • 奉准改名為亞洲大學。 Officially approved by the Ministry of Education to be renamed Asia University.
  • 設置「健康學院」、「資訊學院」、「管理學院」、「文理學院」。 Established the College of Health Science, College of Information Science, College of Management, and College of Humanities and Sciences.
 
  • 首獲教育部教學卓越計畫獎助5,500萬元。 First awarded NT$55 million under the Ministry of Education's Teaching Excellence Project.
  • 95學年度新增「資訊工程學系博士班」。 Added the Ph.D. Program in Computer Science and Information Engineering for the 2006 academic year.
  • 張紘炬教授接任第三任校長。 Professor Horng-Jinh Chang assumed office as the third President.
  • 創意設計學院大樓暨圖書館落成。 Inaugurated the College of Creative Design Building and the University Library.
  • 榮獲教育部教學卓越計畫獎助5,665萬元。 Awarded an additional NT$56.65 million under the Ministry of Education's Teaching Excellence Project.
 
  • 「文理學院」更名為「人文社會學院」，增設「創意設計學院」。 The College of Humanities and Sciences was renamed the College of Humanities and Social Sciences; the College of Creative Design was newly added.
  • 96 學年度新增「健康管理研究所博士班」、「生物科技與生物資訊學系(生物資訊組)博士班」。 Added the Ph.D. Program in Health Management and Ph.D. Program in Biotechnology and Bioinformatics (Bioinformatics Section) for the 2007 academic year.
  • 擴增大學部至21系、16碩士班、6碩士專班、3博士班. Expanded the university to 21 undergraduate departments, 16 master's programs, 6 executive master's programs, and 3 doctoral programs.
  • 榮獲教育部教學卓越計畫獎助5,948萬2,500元。 Awarded NT$59,482,500 under the Ministry of Education's Teaching Excellence Project.
 
  • 教育部「大學系所評鑑」，21個學系、博士班全數通過。 All 21 departments and doctoral programs successfully passed the Ministry of Education's University Department Evaluation.
  • 榮獲教育部98至99年度教學卓越計畫獎助8,300萬元。 Awarded NT$83 million for the 2009-2010 academic years under the Ministry of Education's Teaching Excellence Project.
  • 「大學校院師資培育評鑑」(幼兒教育)獲評為「一等」。 Evaluated as "First Class" in the Teacher Education Evaluation for Early Childhood Education.
 
  • 「大專校院體育專案評鑑」獲評為「第一等」。 Evaluated as "First Class" in the Special Evaluation of Physical Education in Higher Education Institutions.
  • 98學年度增設「企業經濟與策略博士班」。 Added the Ph.D. Program in Business Economics and Strategy for the 2009 academic year.
  • 蔡進發教授接任第四任校長。 Professor Jeffrey J. P. Tsai assumed office as the fourth President.
 
  • 【綠色啟航】正式簽署國際「塔樂禮宣言」，並榮獲世界綠能大學全球第 29 名，全力奠定綠色永續校園重要基礎。 [Green Voyage] Officially signed the international Talloires Declaration and was ranked 29th globally in the UI GreenMetric World University Rankings, laying a solid foundation for a green and sustainable campus.
  • 蔡進發校長主持之「阿拉伯芥整合系統生物學研究」計畫，獲國科會補助1,440萬6,000元。 The "Arabidopsis Integrated Systems Biology Research" project directed by President Jeffrey J. P. Tsai received a subsidy of NT$14,406,000 from the National Science Council.
  • 林俊義院長主持藥用菇類計畫，獲國科會補助1,800萬元. The medicinal mushroom research project led by Dean Chun-Yi Lin secured a subsidy of NT$18 million from the National Science Council.
  • 增設「數位媒體設計博士班」、「時尚設計學系」、「國際學院」。 Added the Ph.D. Program in Digital Media Design, Department of Fashion Design, and International College.
  • 榮獲教育部獎勵私立大學校院校務發展計畫之獎勵及補助經費 8,568萬2,979元。 Awarded NT$85,682,979 in rewards and subsidies under the Ministry of Education's Private University Institutional Development Plan.
 
  • 榮獲教育部100至101年度教學卓越計畫獎助經費4,668萬元。 Awarded NT$46.68 million for the 2011-2012 academic years under the Ministry of Education's Teaching Excellence Project.
  • 「教育部第二次大學校務評鑑」，5大評鑑項目全數通過。 Successfully passed all 5 major evaluation categories in the Ministry of Education's Second University Institutional Evaluation.
  • 101學年度新增「創意商品設計學系碩士班」15名。 Added 15 openings for the Master's Program in the Department of Creative Product Design for the 2012 academic year.
 
  • 世界綠能大學排名第29名，並順利榮獲 TAF ISO 50001 能源管理系統國際認證。 Ranked 29th globally in the UI GreenMetric World University Rankings and successfully achieved the international TAF ISO 50001 Energy Management System certification.
  • 榮獲教育部獎勵私立大學校院校務發展計畫之獎勵及補助經費 9,720萬9,288元。 Awarded NT$97,209,288 under the Ministry of Education's Private University Institutional Development Plan.
  • 英國泰晤士報(THE)「2014金磚五國及新興經濟體國家大學」排名第53名。 Ranked 53rd globally in the Times Higher Education (THE) BRICS & Emerging Economies Rankings 2014.
  • 「教育部鼓勵學生參加藝術與設計類國際競賽」計畫獲獎總數排名，名列高教體系第1名。 Ranked 1st among comprehensive universities in total awards under the Ministry of Education's Program for Encouraging Students to Participate in International Artistic and Design Contests.
 
  • 由普立茲克建築獎大師安藤忠雄設計的「亞洲現代美術館」隆重開幕。 The grand opening of the Asia University Museum of Modern Art, designed by world-renowned Pritzker Architecture Prize laureate Tadao Ando.
  • 連續第8年獲得教育部評選為教學卓越大學，累計金額共4億2,749萬元。 Recognized as a Teaching Excellence University by the Ministry of Education for the 8th consecutive year, with cumulative funding reaching NT$427.49 million.
  • 教育部核准籌設附屬醫院暨附設護理之家。 Approved by the Ministry of Education to plan and establish the affiliated hospital and its attached nursing home.
  • THE「2014亞洲前100名最佳大學」排名第83名。 Ranked 83rd in the THE Asia University Rankings 2014.
 
  • 榮獲台中市環保貢獻獎肯定。 Honored with the Taichung City Environmental Protection Contribution Award.
  • THE「2014新興大學」排名第99名；德國「漢諾威iF設計獎大學世界排名」第28名。 Ranked 99th globally in the THE 100 Under 50 Rankings 2014 and 28th globally in the iF Design Award University Rankings.
  • 「健康學院」更名為「醫學暨健康學院」；「資訊學院」更名為「資訊電機學院」。 The College of Health Science was renamed the College of Medical and Health Science; the College of Information Science was renamed the College of Information and Electrical Engineering.
 
  • 連續第10年獲教學卓越大學，獲得104-105兩年期1億2千萬元高額補助。 Selected as a Teaching Excellence University for the 10th consecutive year, securing a major grant of NT$120 million for the two-year cycle (2015-2016).
  • 藝術與設計類國際競賽獲獎總數再度蟬聯全國第1名。 Retained the 1st place nationwide in total awards won at international art and design competitions.
  • 增設「學士後獸醫學系」、「職能治療學系」、「聽力暨語言治療學系」。 Newly established the Post-Baccalaureate Department of Veterinary Medicine, Department of Occupational Therapy, and Department of Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology.
  • US News「2017全球最佳大學」排名第969名。 Ranked 969th globally in the U.S. News Best Global Universities 2017.
 
  • 「食品安全檢測中心」通過認證正式升格為國家級實驗室。 The Food Safety Inspection Center achieved official certification and was upgraded to a national-level laboratory.
  • 成立「金融科技與區塊鏈研究中心」。 Established the Fintech and Blockchain Research Center.
  • 榮獲教育部獎勵私立大學校院校務發展計畫經費1億0,028萬3,709元。 Awarded NT$100,283,709 under the Ministry of Education's Private University Institutional Development Plan.
  • THE「2017亞洲300大」第181-190名。 Ranked 181-190 in the THE Asia University Rankings 2017.
 
  • 管理學院正式通過美國最高榮譽 AACSB 國際商管品質認證。 The College of Management officially earned the prestigious AACSB international accreditation, the gold standard for business education.
  • 與中國醫藥大學聯合成立「3D列印醫療研發中心」。 Jointly established the 3D Printing Medical Research and Development Center with China Medical University.
  • 教育部正式核准成立「中亞聯合大學系統」。 Officially approved by the Ministry of Education to form the "China Medical University and Asia University (EUA) Joint University System."
 
  • 前瞻因應全球浪潮，正式成立「人工智慧學院 (AI Academy)」。 Proactively matching global waves, the Artificial Intelligence Academy (AI Academy) was officially established.
  • THE「2018千禧年全球大學」排名第31名。 Ranked 31st globally in the THE Millennium Universities Rankings 2018.
  • 蔡進發校長榮獲中華民國管理科學學會頒發「十大傑出校長獎」。 President Jeffrey J. P. Tsai was honored with the "Top Ten Outstanding Presidents Award" by the Chinese Management Association.

  • 教育部正式核准成立「護理學院」。 Officially authorized by the Ministry of Education to establish the College of Nursing.
