余博士：大學應培育全球ESG專業人才、布局綠色財智權，才能發揮國際影響力

Dr. Zheng-Long Yu stated that when universities promote ESG sustainable development, it is crucial to stay well-grounded and closely aligned with practical needs.
亞洲大學永續發展講座，邀請ESG永續發展協會余政龍博士，主講「ESG+高等教育的賦能與升級」。余博士表示，很多大學都在推動ESG永續發展，重要的是能夠「接地氣」，培養學生成為永續國際人才、布局綠色專利，將ESG當作是學校發展的資本，才能在少子化環境下逆勢崛起。
The Sustainable Development Lecture at Asia University invited Dr. Zheng-Long Yu from the ESG Sustainable Development Association to speak on "Empowerment and Upgrading of ESG+ Higher Education." Dr. Yu形势 emphasized that while many universities are currently promoting ESG and sustainability, the key is to stay "well-grounded." This means cultivating students into global sustainability talents, deploying green intellectual property, and utilizing ESG as capital for school growth to thrive despite falling birth rates.
亞大副校長柯慧貞表示，亞大全力培育永續發展綠金人才，全校有1460門課程融入聯合國SDGs永續發展目標，並成立永續辦公室進行跨院媒合，要如何精進、與產業鏈接更緊密，透過與ESG永續發展協會交流，可作為執行上的參考。
AU Vice President Huiching Ko noted that Asia University is fully dedicated to fostering "green gold" talents for sustainable development. Currently, 1,460 courses across the university integrate the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). AU has also established a Sustainability Office to facilitate cross-college collaboration. The exchange with the ESG Sustainable Development Association serves as an excellent operational reference for deepening industry connections and driving improvement.

余博士指出，ESG發展，從過去談CSR(企業社會責任)到現在，已經從持續落實，發展到應用與全面加速ESG。對於高教的影響就是，要培育學生成為ESG種子，讓永續思維內化成為DNA，培育學生成為永續國際人才，才能提高學生的就業競爭力，也能夠吸引更多優秀國際學生就讀。
Dr. Yu pointed out that the development of ESG has evolved significantly from the past emphasis on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). It has shifted from gradual implementation to direct application and overall acceleration. For higher education, this means cultivating students as ESG seeds, embedding sustainable mindsets into their core DNA, and molding them into global sustainability experts. This approach will enhance students' career competitiveness and attract outstanding international talent to the university.
余博士說，ESG並不侷限台灣，所以大學要做的是取得ISO、ESG相關國際證照、成為國際認定的ESG專業培訓機構。而在布局綠色智財權上，可以設置獎金鼓勵師生共同努力開發以解決問題為導向的綠色技術發明，產學合作與產業業界合作，共同開發低碳綠色產品，將ESG當作是學校發展的資本，讓學生能夠學以致用，並進一步連結跨國企業，轉化學校各項ESG科研成果與國際組織串連，就能夠提升學校的國際影響力。
Dr. Yu added that since ESG is inherently international, universities should strive to secure ISO and ESG-related international certifications to become officially accredited training centers. In terms of green intellectual property, institutions can offer incentives to encourage faculty and students to co-develop solution-oriented green technologies. Collaborating with industry partners to design low-carbon green products turns ESG into institutional capital, allowing students to apply what they learn. Ultimately, bridging academic research with multinational corporations and international bodies will immensely boost the university's global presence.
